seesiq2Thanks to SocialEars social analytics software, EmployeeScreenIQ seized a PR opportunity that might otherwise have slipped away.

The Scene

The desk of Jackie Jusko, an HRmarketer PR expert and SocialEars HR Edition user.Social Ears alerts Jackie that the phrase “Background Screening” is a trending topic.

Jackie’s client, EmployeeScreenIQ, provides employment background-screening solutions, so the alert stirs her interest.

Using the SocialEars dashboard, Jackie discovers a significant number of people discussing and retweeting an article about employers demanding that job applicants provide their Facebook passwords.

The Opportunity

Jackie quickly researches the people retweeting the article.

Several of them are important journalists and bloggers in the HR industry – the very individuals her client wants to reach.

She uses SocialEars to reach out to these individuals and provides them with a link to a newly completed survey report that EmployeeScreenIQ issued on the topic of background screening.

The Results

The next day, blogger Eve Tahmincioglu – who authors the Career Diva blog and writes MSNBC.com’s weekly Your Career column – featured the EmployeeScreenIQ survey in her blog.

One week later, she had interviewed EmployeeScreenIQ’s Jason Morris and wrote a complete story about the company’s survey, which was featured on the MSNBC website.

After Eve’s initial story hit, it was picked up by NBC affiliate KUSA, 9 News Denver and the wildly popular Gawker website.

“A few nickminutes of work on SocialEars created a wealth of buzz for us,” said Nick Fishman, EmployeeScreenIQ’s chief marketing officer and executive vice president. “Sending out traditional press releases still plays an important role in PR – but the ability to engage decision makers, influencers and the media in real time is imperative. SocialEars HR is the perfect tool for this.”

“jackieSocialEars gives companies two huge advantages: the ability to know exactly what journalists, bloggers and influencers are covering and the ability to reach out to these individuals at exactly the right time.”
